1973 (August to Dec) - Attached to the RAA regiment in Holsworthy, NSW.
1974 (Jan to May) - Attended the artillery officer conversion course and became a gunner in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
1974 ( Jul to Sep) - Attended the 155mm artillery course in the Republic of China (ROC).
1974 to 75 - Employed as an artillery battery officer in 20th Singapore Artillery Battalion (20th SA).
1975 to 78 - Awarded the SAF scholarship and studied in the Singapore University. Graduated with a B.Sc.
1979 - Attended the Army Staff Course (Div 1) at RMCS, UK.
1980 to 82 - Employed as a weapon staff officer in the Ministry of Defence.
1980 - Promoted to Captain.
1983 - Appointed as Battery Commander in 21st SA.
1984 - Attended the Singapore Command and Staff Course (SCSC)
1985 - Employed as the Chief Instructor, School of Artillery.
1985 - Promoted to Major.
1986 to 87 - Appointed as Commanding Officer of 20th SA.
1986 - Obtained a graduate diploma in personal management from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM).
1987 to 88 - Employed as Head of General Staff Branch, HQ SA.
1989 - Attended the Malaysian Command and Staff Course, Haigate, Kuala Lumpur.
1990 to 91- Employed as Army Directing Staff (DS) of SCSC.
1991 - Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
1992 - Employed as G3, HQ 3rd Div responsible for operational, training and plans.
1992 - Appointed as the Parade Commander of the 27th Singapore National Day.
1993 - Early retirement from SAF.
1994 - Migrated to Christchurch, New Zealand.
1994 to 1998 - Employed as Administration Director, Contec Data International Ltd.
2000 to 2001 - Obtained a NZ diploma in business and a diploma in management (NZIM).
2002 till now - Private tutor on mathematics, economics and physics.
